Black Dolphin is a private tattoo studio in Seattle’s University District. Co-owners Phil O' Gurk and Audri Anna's goal is to provide a fun space for clients to feel comfortable while receiving individual attention in a welcoming, inclusive environment for their clients.
Project Brief
Black Dolphin wasn't happy with their Squarespace site, and needed help adding a contact form to help organize their client communication and tattoo schedule.
Design Research
Phil stressed that it was essential that we added a contact form where clients could upload their photos and consolidate communications. Regarding inspiration, they liked the site style of Amulet and True Hand Society Tattoo studios. They were drawn toward a monochromatic color scheme with accents of a muted taupe color.
Meet the Owners
To create a unique web experience, we combined their different tattoo styles throughout the website. Audri's style is traditional novelist, and Phil's is illustrative blackwork.
Website Refresh
In creating the website, we focused on a muted color palette with accents of taupe. We used Jotform for the contact form to streamline communications to the shop. We used Audri's pinup drawings throughout the site to add a bit of personality to make the site's presence unique.
Site Launch
